According to the press service of the SAP, the former high-ranking official was exposed for embezzling millions of dollars and receiving a bribe.
During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that in 2020, one of the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs ensured that a predetermined company won a tender for the purchase of equipment video surveillance and access control, which were installed in the buildings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Despite the fact that the cost of this equipment was significantly overstated, the state institution transferred funds for the equipment, and ultimately this led to losses for the institution in the amount of more than 16 million UAH.
It turned out that in order to win the procurement, the entrepreneur, during 2018-2019, through the public organization he headed, transferred four premium cars for free use to a high-ranking official with a total value of more than 6 million UAH.
When the official was fired from his job, these cars became his property through a donation agreement.
