“No one deserves peace more than Ukraine.”

During the discussion panel “Diplomacy in the Context of the Environment”, Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen said that she expects a peace agreement to end the war in Ukraine this year.
According to Ukrinform, the head of the Foreign Ministry recalled that she recently visited Kyiv and was convinced that “no one deserves” peace more than Ukraine and Ukrainian children.”
Valtonen also emphasized that the issue of peace in Europe has not been three years, but more than ten. And all this time, “it was Russia that did not want peace, because otherwise, obviously, it would not have broken into a neighboring country.”
The Ukrainians, according to the diplomat, “have done a great job, were able to defend themselves and have every right to peace on their territory, according to the UN Charter.”
- In Kyiv, Valtonen said that NATO membership is the only effective guarantee of security for Ukraine.
