In Ukraine, Russian oligarch Shelkov will be tried in a case of exporting titanium-containing raw materials worth UAH 90 million to the Russian Federation

The investigation established that from January 2020 to December 2021, the oligarch's criminal group secretly supplied products of a Ukrainian mining and processing plant under its control to the Russian Federation through an Austrian company.

Russian oligarch Mikhail Shelkov will be tried in Ukraine in case of export of titanium-containing raw materials worth UAH 90 million to the Russian Federation, the Prosecutor General's Office reports, without mentioning the name of the defendant. According to the case materials, we are talking about the Demurinsky Mining and Processing Plant.

Prosecutors sent an indictment to the court on the facts of financing actions committed with the aim of forcibly changing the borders of the territory and state border of Ukraine, tax evasion and legalization (laundering) of property obtained by criminal means (Part 4 of Article 110-2, Part 5) of Article 27, Part 3 of Article. The investigation established that from January 2020 to December 2021, a criminal group was organized, created and headed by a Russian oligarch, secretly supplied products of a controlled Ukrainian mining and processing plant to the Russian Federation through an Austrian company.

In total, Russian enterprises exported strategic titanium-containing raw materials worth almost UAH 90 million. These enterprises are directly related to the manufacture of weapons for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense, and are also involved in meeting the needs of the defense industry and creating strategic reserves of the aggressor country.

Under the contracts, titanium-containing concentrates were supplied to a company registered in Austria, although in fact they were immediately shipped to the address of Russian companies. At the same time, the products were exported at reduced prices.

Earlier, by the decision of the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court, this property and assets were recovered in favor of the state. Currently, the plant is owned by Ukraine.

The Russian oligarch and legal entities associated with him are under sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
