The Russian army launched a missile strike on Zaporizhia on the night of January 23. The attack killed one person and injured 24, including a two-month-old baby and four employees of the State Emergency Service, IZ reports.
According to the head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, the deceased was a 47-year-old man. Among the wounded were a toddler who was hospitalized and rescuers who were injured while performing their duties.
Destruction of residential buildings
A Russian missile hit one of the city's residential buildings. The blast wave broke out windows, destroyed the roof, and damaged other buildings. “This is another cynical crime by the occupiers who are attacking the civilian population,” Fedorov said.
According to preliminary data, at least four explosions were heard in the city at around four in the morning. Before the attack, local authorities warned of the possibility of ballistic missile strikes.
