The head of the Defense Procurement Agency (AOZ) Marina Bezrukova stated that in accordance with the law, she remains the acting head of AOZ, Obshchestvennoye reports.
Bezrukova recalled that the Supervisory Board had made a unanimous decision to extend his contract, and the draft decision was sent to the Ministry of Defense.
“All documents have been properly completed. Therefore, my position remains unchanged: the JSC operates in accordance with the law and the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Bezrukova noted.
The head of the AOZ said that the information released by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov about the non-renewal of the contract shocked her. According to her, “it looks like an attempt to rape all the reforms that were announced and promised to society.” , and no claims were made to her at the time.
“Some of my normative initiatives were adopted. Tasks were cut in accordance with the contracts currently being implemented. I repeat: no complaints were made to me, as was the case throughout the previous year. In fact, I am surprised by the situation, because if the minister had provided information that I, or the agency, had done something wrong, we would certainly have corrected it,” Bezrukova said.
She emphasized that she remains the current head of AOZ, and the announcement of the head is pressure on the Supervisory Board.
“What is happening is not normal. We can work within the framework of constructive interaction, I always listen to any constructive criticism, and if there are complaints, then I ask you to voice them, and we will be able to resolve it,” Bezrukova assured, and noted that she does not understand how Zhumadilov can be appointed to the post of head of the AOZ without violating laws, procedures, reforms and promises to partners.

This statement by Zhumadilov was preceded by the decision of the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov not to renew the contract with the head of the AOZ Marina Bezrukova, contrary to the decision of the Supervisory Board.

Umerov also decided to dismiss his deputy Dmitry Klimenkov, and to recall two representatives of the state from the Supervisory Board of the Ministry of Defense – his former deputy Yuri Dzhigir and the head of the “Come Back Alive” foundation, Taras Chmut.

On January 22, the Supervisory Board unanimously decided to extend Bezrukova's contract for one year. However, the Ministry of Defense did not approve this decision.
