Today, January 28, as part of the initiative of the President of Ukraine Bring Kids Back UA, it was possible to return home 5 more Ukrainian children aged 1.5 to 18 years, who had been under Russian occupation for a long time.

This was reported in a telegram by the Advisor on Communications to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Operational Director of Bring Kids Back UA Daria Zarovna .

Among those returned are The 15-year-old daughter of a Ukrainian servicewoman who was recently released from captivity. While her mother was in captivity, her family was forced to hide their intentions to leave so as not to harm her.

An 8-year-old boy also returned home, who, despite the occupiers' ban, had been secretly studying at a Ukrainian online school all this time.

A 17-year-old boy also arrived, who, having a tough pro-Ukrainian position, personally asked for help to escape the occupation and continue building a future in Ukraine. He celebrated his coming of age at home.

“Each return is a complex operation that requires the coordination of many efforts. Special thanks to the team of the Ombudsman's Office for organizing the rescue mission and the safe return of our children from the occupation,” wrote Zarovna.

  • As of January 24, the Bring Kids Back UA initiative has already managed to return 1,037 children.
  • Meanwhile, Zelensky invited the President of South Africa to join in the return of Ukrainian children deported by the Russian Federation, and the government of Qatar to expand the mission.
