How to get a deferment from mobilization in February: what Ukrainians need to know

Mobilization is ongoing in Ukraine, but some citizens can apply for a deferment, writes IZ with reference to Obozrevatel. This applies to categories of military conscripts who have appropriate grounds defined by law. Among them are persons with disabilities, temporarily unfit for service due to health conditions, parents with many children, and those caring for relatives with disabilities. To apply for a deferment, you must contact the territorial recruitment center with the necessary documents.

According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, enterprises that have the status of critical to the economy must confirm this status by February 28, 2025. This will allow them to continue reserving their employees from mobilization. If this requirement is not met, previously issued deferrals may become invalid.

Some categories of citizens can apply for a deferral through the “Reserve+” application. This function is currently available to students and parents with many children. To use the service, you must submit an application and upload the relevant documents to the system.

In February, it is especially important to follow the new rules for applying for a deferral, as ignoring the requirements may result in the loss of the opportunity to exercise this right. Ukrainians should check the relevance of documents in advance and, if necessary, submit them to the relevant institutions.

Recall that we previously wrote that military conscripts with limited fitness must undergo a military service test by February 5.
