In particular, we are talking about the pollution of soils with oil products as a result of shelling.

According to the press service of the department, specialists from the units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine examined 61 military facilities that suffered environmental damage as a result of missile, bomb and artillery strikes by the Russian Federation, and recorded the following losses:
- soil contamination with waste from destruction – 40 billion 260 million 446 thousand 746 hryvnia;
- pollution of soils with oil products – 1 billion 564 million 980 thousand 137 UAH;
- unorganized emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere – 96 million 850 thousand 34 UAH;
- damage caused to forest resources – 145 million 293 thousand 946 UAH.

Materials with recorded facts of damage to the environment and calculations of losses were provided to the Office of the Prosecutor General for appropriate response and attachment to open criminal proceedings.
