The pilot project for training military personnel will be expanded in Ukraine. As part of the program, recruits undergo basic combined arms training in brigades.

This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky following the meeting.

General Syrsky held a meeting on improving the quality of training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The command analyzed the training of graduates of training centers who completed a longer course of basic general military training lasting 1.5 months. >

In Ukraine, a new program for training instructors is being implemented – with an increase in the training period from 1 to 2 months, strengthening the content of this program and the methodology for training instructors. (hereinafter BZIN) on the basis of combat units.

Syrsky also heard a report from the commander of one of the mechanized brigades on the BZIN training course for new recruits at its rear training grounds.

“Conducting the BZIN course at the brigade's facilities allows us to achieve a higher level of personnel training. This allows us to conduct quality control on-site; strengthen skills in working with weapons and military equipment; improve teamwork and imitation of the military traditions of the military unit; brigades and strengthen their work, attracting them to training centers.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, the Airborne Assault Troops are among the “flagships” in training new recruits.

  • On January 15, the President signed the bill adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on amendments to the Law “On Military Duty and Military Service” on the specifics of registering Ukrainian citizens for military service. The document, in particular, provides for the systematic implementation of basic combined arms training for students seeking higher education.
