In Ukraine, large families are entitled to a number of social guarantees, which include benefits for paying for utilities, free medical examinations, discounts on education and financial support, writes IZ with reference to ICTV Facts. In 2025, the state continues to support such families, providing them with additional opportunities to improve their standard of living.
In Ukraine, large families include families raising at least three minor children. Benefits also apply to children under the age of 23 if they are in full-time education and live with their parents. The Law “On the Protection of Childhood” provides that such families are provided with a 50% discount on housing and utility bills, including electricity, gas and heating. Such families can also count on priority housing in the event of the birth of twins or five or more children.
Children from large families are provided with a number of social benefits, including free medicines, medical examinations, dental prosthetics and preferential travel on public transport. Such children are also entitled to free health care, social scholarships and discounts on tuition in kindergartens and after-school institutions.
In addition, in 2025, the payment for large families was retained – 2,100 hryvnias per month for each third and subsequent child under the age of six. The payment is made after submitting an application by one of the parents and is taken into account in the total family income when calculating subsidies and other social benefits.
