The Ukrainian team has identified four athletes who will represent the country in the first race of the 2025 Biathlon World Championships. The mixed relay will open the world championship in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, on February 12 at 3:30 p.m. Kyiv time, IZ.
As reported by Suspilne Sport, the Ukrainian team includes Iryna Petrenko, Khrystyna Dmytrenko, Anton Dudchenko, and Dmytro Pidruchny. The women's team will open the relay, and the men will finish. According to coach Mykola Zots, the option with Olena Gorodnaya was also considered, but in the end the decision was made in favor of Petrenko and Dmytrenko.
For Khrystina Dmytrenko, this race will be her debut at the World Championship level, although she previously had experience in mixed relays at the World Cup. Anton Dudchenko will run in the mixed relay for the second time in his career at the World Championships, while Dmytro Pidruchny has been a constant participant in this type of program for Ukraine since 2015.
