The main result of the conversation was the agreement to open official peace talks. Trump determined the composition of the American delegation that will conduct negotiations on behalf of the United States. It included Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Trump's special representative Stephen Witkoff. Putin, in turn, declared his readiness to receive American representatives in Moscow.
The second important point was the discussion of a personal meeting of the leaders. According to sources, Trump received an invitation to visit Moscow, which was probably agreed in advance. Trump himself confirmed the agreement to meet with Putin, although the exact date has not yet been announced.
After his conversation with Putin, Trump had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. During the conversation, the results of the Ukrainian side's communication with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant were discussed, as well as the preparation of a new agreement between Ukraine and the United States, which provides for cooperation in the fields of security, economy and resource provision.
Trump also shared with Volodymyr Zelensky the details of his conversation with Putin.
“Ukraine wants peace more than anyone else. We are defining joint steps with America to stop Russian aggression and ensure stable, lasting peace. As President Trump said: let’s get it done,” Zelenskyy noted.
In addition, the leaders agreed to continue the dialogue and coordinate further meetings.
