President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky made a decision for the sake of the national security and defense of Ukraine in 12 years to ensure the availability of medicines for Ukrainians. The markup on drugs will be set at 10-35%.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine following the decree on the presidential website.
As stated in the decree, information about the country was taken before the release. participants in the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine will reduce by 30% from 1st February 2025 the prices for the most demanded basic medicinal products.
The order is to place low costs, among any changes to the laws.
Also the main thing is the order for the Cabinet of Ministers to set a markup at all stages of the sale of liquor. The government is responsible for the 1st February 2025 to limit:
- up to 10% of the border post-employment allowances, which will be covered by distributors of medicinal products up to wholesale prices for everything registered in Ukrainian medical facilities,
- up to 10% regressive border trade (divisional) mark-ups on purchase prices for all prescription drugs,
- up to 35% border trade (distribution) mark-ups on purchase prices for all over-the-counter medicinal products.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers is obliged from 1 March 2025 to introduce a ban on marketing services, services from the promotion of medicinal products, information and other services related to the implementation of medicinal services for the terminal patient.
The same order may be announced from January 1, 2025 to the government's establishment of supervision (control) over the remaining subjects of the state government, in order to supervise activities in the sphere of wholesale and dispensary trade in medicinal products and medical viruses, it was possible to carefully mold, establish and stagnate government-regulated prices.
It is clear that Zelensky appreciates that drug prices in Ukraine are “absolutely inadequate.” In my opinion, pharmacies and drug manufacturers aim to provide a more comfortable experience for consumers.
The President spoke on this topic in front of representatives of the government, and then there was a meeting of the RNBO, at which the decision was praised for its goodness likiv.
For bags in 2024, the State Statistics Committee recorded the following increase in prices in Ukraine:
- Victimized antibiotics – 20%,
- Imported antibiotics – 26%,
- Cervical dilatation medicinal products – 13%,
- Disinfective drugs imported – 13%,
- Antipyretic and analgesic drugs imported – 22%,
- Antipyretic and analgesic drugs Imported pain medications -16%.
At this time, prices increased by 12%, and utilities increased in price by 19%.
