Ukraine adapts legislation in the field of maritime transport to EU standards

Ukraine continues the European integration process, bringing its legislation in the field of maritime transport. As part of this process, the relevant rules and regulations have begun, IZ writes.

Deputy Minister of Community and Territories Development Andriy Kashuba participated in a meeting with representatives of the European Commission on Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) and Neighborhood and Denovation Negotiation (DG Near).

• Preparation of seafarers and the minimum level of their qualification;

• supervision of compliance with the maritime legislation of Ukraine and international navigation treaties;

It remains the main channel of international trade in Ukraine. Until a full -scale invasion, it provided up to 70% of exports, including 90% of food supply. This emphasizes the critical role of Ukraine in global food security. From the beginning of a full -scale invasion, we make every effort to make all seaports work uninterrupted, ”Kashuba said.

he added that Ukraine is steadily complying with its obligations under the international agreements that are part of the EU legislative framework.
