Athletes support Zelensky after dispute with Trump

After the tense meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump, many Ukrainian athletes openly supported the Ukrainian president. As IZ reports with reference to Channel 24, among them were football players Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ilya Zabarny, Olympic champion Liliya Podkopayeva, fencer Olga Kharlan and tennis player Elina Svitolina. They used social media to express support and pride for the head of state, emphasizing the importance of the fight for Ukraine's independence and sovereignty.

At the same time, some foreign athletes have sided with Donald Trump. In particular, former world boxing champion Tyson Fury and scandalous blogger and boxer Jake Paul have publicly supported the American leader. They have focused on his role as a defender of US national interests and a guarantor of stability in the world. Fury even emphasized that Trump is capable of ensuring peace, while Paul stated that the US president's actions are aimed at correcting the mistakes of previous administrations.

Ukrainian athletes focused on supporting their country's independence. Liliya Podkopayeva emphasized that Zelensky continues to fight for Ukraine despite all difficulties. Andriy Shevchenko, president of the Ukrainian Football Association, called for unity for the sake of victory, and Olga Kharlan emphasized the dignity of the President of Ukraine. These statements showed the unity of Ukrainian athletes in supporting the head of state at such a difficult moment.
