In Romania, after the Russian night attack on Ukraine, surplus Russian drones were discovered

On the night of February 1, the Russian Federation launched a drone attack on Ukraine yesterday. After this attack, a Russian drone was detected on the territory of Romania.

RBC-Ukraine reports about this via Digi24.

A team of specialists from the Ministry of National Defense, the Rumanian Intelligence Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a press release that the fragments of the drone discovered in the Galati region may be of Russian origin.

“Based on the examinations, it was established that there was an active warhead on board the drone, which would be used to control explosions on the ground in order to avoid any threat to the town’s population,” government officials explained.

It appears that the incident occurred approximately 500 meters from the border with Moldova, in an uninhabited area, and without damaging the infrastructure.

“The operation is in progress at the time of publication of this report. MAF personnel have carried out all necessary security operations, including the establishment of a chemical perimeter, access boundaries and increased patrolling, to prevent the loss of outsiders are in the zone,” the government's representatives added.

Russian attack on Ukraine
