The leaders of 26 of the 27 powers of the European Union agreed on a declaration to support Ukraine at the Brussels summit on February 6th. However, the Prime Minister of Ugorsk region, Viktor Orban, was encouraged to vote for the ceremony.
RBC-Ukraine reported this to Radio Liberty.
The declaration aims to encourage the potential deployment of peacekeepers in Ukraine within the framework of the “Common Security and Defense Policy” (CSDP) mechanism, in which the European Union takes part in peacekeeping operations.
“At the end of the negotiations for an inclusive, fair and respectful world, the European Union and the Member States are ready to accept security guarantees on the basis of their respective competencies and capabilities, therefore international law, with a view to introducing possible alternative instruments of the Civil Security and Defense Policy (CSDP),” the document says.
26 out of 27 EU members also confirmed their stability and strong support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine between its internationally recognized cordons.
European leaders said in the declaration that fire can only be part of the process leading to a completely peaceful outcome, and if such a goal may be accompanied by reliable guarantees of security for Ukraine, which will accept the stream of the upcoming Russian aggression.”
The document also states that the world may be concerned about the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. It is agreed that we cannot have long-term negotiations without Ukraine without Ukraine and without Europe.
However, Orbán’s vote for the declaration means that it will not go to the official resolutions of the EU itself, but will be accommodated in addition to these resolutions, “firmly supported by the 26 member states.”
