Magnetic storms in March 2025: when to expect?

The first days of March passed without significant magnetic storms, as scientists had predicted. As IZ reports with reference to Meteoagent, solar plasma emissions flew past the Earth without causing significant disturbances in the magnetosphere. However, there is a possibility of weak G1-level disturbances in the second half of the week, if solar plasma does affect the planet. These phenomena will not affect the territory of Ukraine.

No coronal mass ejections were observed at the beginning of the month, directed at the Earth. Sunspots and coronal holes are in safe zones, which reduces the risk of powerful magnetic storms. Forecasts indicate possible minor fluctuations in the magnetic field after March 5 due to the activation of the coronal hole. However, the strongest storms are not yet expected.

Solar activity in March remains stable due to the location of spots and a hole on the Sun's disk. Experts continue to observe, but so far there are no threatening emissions in the direction of our planet. So far, the coming days promise calm space weather, without significant impacts on the Earth and its magnetic field.

Recall, we previously wrote that Maxar cut off Ukraine's access to satellites.
