The Diya platform now offers a new service – a digital weapon permit . As reported by IZ with reference to the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, users can instantly generate a document and receive extracts from the Unified Weapons Register. Push notifications are also provided about the expiration of the permit. This document does not require carrying paper counterparts, and all information is available online. Initially, the service will operate in a beta-testing format to collect feedback and check functionality.
Before the introduction of the digital weapon permit, paper documents were used that were filled out manually. Now, in the Action, you can view the status of the permit and information about registered weapons. If the validity period is about to expire, the user receives a notification and can extend the permit online through the Ministry of Internal Affairs website. This significantly simplifies the process, reducing the amount of paperwork and queues in government agencies.
The digital permit in Diya has a high level of security, which makes forgery impossible. The police can instantly check the legality of the document and information about the owner of the weapon. In 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs created an electronic weapons registry, which became the basis for launching a new service. Other services are planned to be added later. To use it, you need to update the application and add a document in a few clicks.
