Zaporizhia region is in penultimate place in the well-being rating

Zaporizhia region took 22nd place out of 23 possible in the local well-being rating for 2024, second only to Kherson region. According to a study by Rating Lab, the region received an overall score of -0.6 points on a scale from -3 to +3. The worst rated were economic opportunities and the level of civil security — -1.1 and -1.0 points, respectively. While the emotional perception of the region received 0.0 points, and the level of education and medicine — -0.4 points, writes IZ.

The survey, on the basis of which the rating was built, was conducted from November 24 to December 8 among 9,681 respondents. It is important to note that the study did not cover the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, as well as Donetsk, Luhansk regions and Crimea. The highest scores were received by Kyiv (0.7 points), Kharkiv (0.4), Lviv (0.3) and Volyn (0.3) regions. Zaporizhia region lost positions compared to last year, when it had 0.5 points and was in 21st place.

Economic difficulties and security issues had the greatest impact on the drop in Zaporizhia region's ranking. At the same time, emotional perception indicators remained at the same level as last year. This indicates that the region's residents maintain a neutral attitude towards the situation, despite the difficulties. The deterioration in positions also reflects the overall impact of the war on the region's economic opportunities and security.

Recall that we previously wrote that the IAEA is warning about the threat to nuclear safety due to the occupation of the ZNPP.
