Updated 15:32. The Odessa regional prosecutor’s office reported that “the person responsible for the shootings has not been identified” as an activist.

Law enforcement authorities on Friday, 14 February, at around 10:30 am, received information about those who shot at a passerby in the Primorsky district of Odessa.

Klimenko took the investigation under special control
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Igor Klimenko, asked the Verkhovna Rada to confirm that they will kill Ganul. He stated that the investigation would be placed under special control and sent to Odessa a detective-operational group of the best police officers.
In his words, the investigative and criminal investigation group of the Central Office of the National Police, together with the Head of the National Police, Ivan Vigivsky, went to Odessa to investigate the resonant killing.

Who is Demyan Ganul
Dem'yan Ganul was born on June 6, 1993. Having graduated from the history department of the Odessa Pedagogical University named after Ushinsky. Ukrainian community activist, volunteer, blogger, animal ecologist, founder and keeper of the Civil Front “Vulichny Front”, participant in the Revolution of Hydnost and the standoff in Odessa on 2 May against the pro-Russian forces. Keruvav is a security bloc in the Odessa “Right Sector”.
Still in the limelight of 2024, Ganul brutalized himself to the state authorities because of his complaints about the defense, submitting an application to the SBU and the police. He stated that Russian resources expanded information about his relatives in social media, and to attack him they donated up to 10 thousand dollars to the city. The activist reported that he had overcome the threat. In Russia, the court took him in absentia “under war” for several articles of the Criminal Code.
