The incidence of acute respiratory viral infections has increased in Zaporizhia region

In Zaporizhia region, an increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections was recorded, the indicator exceeded the epidemic threshold by 22%. As reported by IZ with reference to the Central Center for Disease Control, 7,697 new cases were registered over the past week, which corresponds to a level of 919.3 per 100,000 population. The intensity of the epidemic process is assessed as average, 226 people were hospitalized, and no deaths were recorded.

According to the regional center for disease control and prevention, influenza viruses continue to circulate in the region. Laboratory-confirmed 35 cases of influenza B, 20 cases of influenza A (H3N1), 13 cases of influenza A (H1N1)pdm and 5 cases of influenza A (unsubtyped). No cases of COVID-19 were detected last week.

The incidence of acute respiratory viral infections in Zaporizhia region has been showing an upward trend since the fourth week of 2025. Doctors emphasize the need to adhere to preventive measures, including vaccination and avoiding crowded places. The situation remains under the control of medical services.
