Ukraine has set “red lines” in negotiations with Russia

Ukraine has outlined the main conditions for possible negotiations with Russia, including the refusal to make concessions on the issue of territories and the return of abducted children. As IZ reports with reference to The Independent, Kyiv emphasizes that none of the occupied regions will be recognized as Russian. This remains a principled position under international law.

In addition, Ukraine demands the return of all illegally detained civilians. Separately, the issue of international security guarantees, which should protect the country in the event of a violation of any agreements, is raised. Kyiv considers these conditions as a mandatory basis for possible negotiations.

Russia, for its part, is seeking to regain control of several regions, but Ukraine plans to return them diplomatically. Western sources say the Kremlin is not ready for constructive negotiations. At the same time, Kyiv insists that any solution must take into account the country's sovereignty.

Recall that we previously wrote that Russia is building up forces to strike the Sumy region.
