Sibiga: The details of the deployment of the military contingent in Ukraine are already being discussed

Ukraine is approaching the implementation of a system of security-free guarantees. The head of MZS Andriy Sibiga emphasized the importance of American support for the effective implementation of this initiative.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MZS) of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga spoke about this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

Ukraine is actively collapsing until the implementation of a new system of safe-haven guarantees, and at this stage it is already clear which countries are ready to place their forces as important warehouse systems.

As Andriy Sibiga noted, the details – geography, size and mandate of military contingents – are already being actively discussed.

At the last coalition, which formed on Saturday with the participation of President Volodymyr Zelensky, the main directions of upcoming actions were consolidated. Zokrem, consultations with Andriy Yermak and national security officials are being steadily pursued.

“These are no longer abstract ideas, but speeches that are at the stage not of discussion, but of implementation,” said Sibig.

He also voiced the importance of US support in this process, noting that without American leadership and the participation of a system of security guarantees, it will be difficult to achieve the desired results.

Questions about how European partners can strengthen their contingents without praise and support from the United States are being denied criticism. However, according to Sibiga, the support of the American side is important.

Peacekeeping mission

The rest of Europe and the United States are discussing the possibility of sending peacekeepers to Ukraine as part of security guarantees.

Volodymyr Fesenko, head of the Center for Applied Political Research “Penta”, commented on RBC-Ukraine and expressed the idea that Russia might be encouraged by such a format, since the peacekeeping forces will include European troops.

Nowadays, Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that the European countries are responsible for taking leadership in their food supply and sending their peacekeepers to Ukraine. However, Trump himself does not plan to bring American troops into this process.
