Naftogaz has increased its commitment to purchasing American gas

NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine has signed a contract for the supply of another 100 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with the Polish company ORLEN. The fuel comes from a batch of American LNG.

RBC-Ukraine informs about this through communications to the NAC press service.

This is another contract for the execution of the fire, signing between the memorandum of mutual understanding between the companies. The first also transferred the supply of 100 million cubic meters of LNG.

After regasification, the gas is transported to the Polish-Ukrainian border.

Gas will be supplied to Ukraine as soon as possible. We are working to create a strategic fire reserve for the upcoming burning season, having informed the NAC press service.

Apparently, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Polish state company ORLEN signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG). As part of the memorandum on the joint venture, Naftogaz and ORLEN also signed a contract for the supply of approximately 100 million cubic meters of gas. The gas comes from a batch of consolidated natural gas that will be delivered to the terminal in Klaipeda (Lithuania).

Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian GTS Operator, Dmytro Lippa, stated that Ukraine could import large quantities of American gas through terminals in Germany, Greece, Lithuania and Poland. Lippa said that Ukraine can import at least 4 billion cubic meters of gas between winter and summer.

As a result, up to half of the import requirement through Europe is LNG, which is supplied to European terminals, rather than pipeline gas, and, according to Lippi, most of this obligation can be found from the acquisitions. States.
