The Saratov region is expecting a massive drone attack. At the border they report about the arrival in the area of the Engels airfield, thick clouds of smoke can be seen, the vibrations there began early in the fall and continue to bear witness to the virus detonation in the armory warehouses.

According to the words of the CPD chief Andriy Kovalenko, the number of missing missiles at the airfield in “Engels” will be increased this year.
“At which airfield they save the most missiles, like Vikorist strategic aviation for attacks on Ukraine,” he added.
What do we know about the attack on Engels and Saratov
The vibukhs in Saratov and Engels began mooning at the Svitanka. For information from monitoring Teleram channels, the target was the Sarativ Oil Refinery and the area of the Engels-2 airfield (the distance to Engels is about 700 km from Ukraine.)
Ukrainian publics, relying on data from OSINT analysts, write that there was an explosion at the warehouse of the military airfield “Engels-2”. There is talk of a special “arrival” at the warehouse or the airport.
It is noteworthy that local residents claim a second detonation after the impact. The stinks revealed that there was a strong smoke near the microdistrict “3rd place” in Engels after a series of drone attacks. This microdistrict is located approximately 10 kilometers from the military airfield “Engels-2”.
At the moment, the local Russian authorities are already talking about the largest drone raid on Sarativ and Engels for the entire hour of the war.
Governor of the Saratov region Roman Busargin announced fire at the airport. These words were followed by the evacuation of the locals who had settled down before the military summer of the Budynkas. In the Engelsky district, through the attack, a state of emergency situation in the municipal district was already introduced.
In addition, the local government will pay for the damage to over 30 buildings, a hospital, two kindergartens and a school. Having spoken, two people suffered. In Engels, schools have been switched to distance learning.
Russian propaganda Telegram channels Mash and Shot reported at night that “through the tricks of a drone that fell”, they also burned a wine in the area of the oil depot in Engels. The local owner didn’t comment that way. However, at the edge they widen the frames, where the object is burning, similar to a burning one.

Residents of Saratov report hearing the sounds of vibrations during the hour of a drone attack. Rosaviatsia announced a time delay at the Saratov and Samari airports.
In total, as the Russians say, 54 drones were shot down over the Saratov region. In Crimea, drones were shot down over the Voronezk, Bilgorod, Rostov, Kursk and Lipetsk regions, as well as the occupied Crimea. According to the data of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, they say that “132 unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed.”
How important for Russia is the Engels airfield
It is significant that the Engels-2 airbase is located in the Saratov region of Russia and is one of the key facilities for strategic aviation of the Russian Federation. At this base, strategic bombers are deployed, such as the Tu-95MS and Tu-160, which Russia uses to launch missiles at Ukraine.
Just at the end of a full-scale war, Ukrainian drones reached the Engels-2 airbase. As a result of the attack, at least one strategic bomber was damaged. This attack alarmed the Russian command over the short-term presence of strategic aviation at this base.
Let us remember that in the beginning of 2025, Ukrainian drones hit the Kristall oil base located on the territory of the Engels-2 airfield. This led to the occupation of tanks with aircraft fuel, which are used for Tu-160 bombers, as the Russian Federation stagnates the terror of the population of Ukraine.
Thus, these attacks were a small significant influx on the combat capabilities of Russian strategic aviation and demonstrated the influx of key military installations of the Russian Federation.
