Grants and vacancies for combatants: what is offered in Zaporizhia

Since the beginning of 2025, 51 people with the status of a combatant (UBD) have applied to the Zaporizhia Regional Employment Center (ZOCZ). As a result, 10 people were able to find work. According to the ZOCZ, the main areas of employment for UBD are state administration, local government, trade, processing industry, and real estate transactions, writes IZ with reference to Vidbudova.

As of early March 2025, 164 unemployed persons were registered with the employment service. In January-February 2025, 51 people applied, of whom 9 men and 1 woman found work. In particular, they found jobs in such areas as public administration, trade, local governments, and the processing industry.

To find a job, combatants can contact employment centers for advice and assistance. They also have the opportunity to improve their skills or learn a new profession free of charge through local educational institutions and vocational education centers. 98 working professions and 400 educational programs are available to registered unemployed UBD.

In addition, UBDs who have higher education or vocational skills can receive a voucher for training at state expense. The cost of the voucher cannot exceed UAH 30,280. All those wishing to receive a voucher have the right to apply for participation in the program.

For those who want to open their own business, there are grant programs in the region. Under the “Own Business” program, combatants can receive micro-grants from 50 to 250 thousand hryvnias to develop their own business, while creating new jobs. There is also a grant program for people with disabilities as a result of the war and their families, which provides grants for the creation of new jobs.

All applications for grants or training can be submitted through the Diya portal or at the employment center.
