Ukraine has launched a new preferential loan program for internally displaced persons (IDPs), which allows them to obtain housing at a low interest rate of just 3% per annum. The program also provides for the possibility of purchasing housing with a minimum down payment of just 6% of the cost of the housing, writes IZ.
According to the Department of Communications of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers, loans will be available to IDPs who do not have housing in the controlled territory of Ukraine and have not participated in other state housing programs. It is important that the loan will be provided on preferential terms: the duration of the loan is up to 30 years, and the interest rate will be only 3% per year throughout the entire loan period.
To apply, you must register on the Diya portal, go to the “ Housing Loan for IDPs ” section and submit an application. Part of the data will be automatically pulled from state registers, which will simplify the process. If necessary, additional verification steps will be required to confirm income. After verification, participants will receive a decision via a random number generator.
The program offers certain conditions: the maximum area of housing for one or two people is 52.5 m², with the possibility of an additional 21 m² for each family member. The initial payment should not be less than 6% of the cost of the selected housing. Participants must ensure that after paying the monthly payment, the average monthly family income exceeds the subsistence minimum.
We remind you that we previously wrote about whether parents in Ukraine can collect alimony for their maintenance.
