Russia is preparing a new offensive that will last almost the entire year of 2025

Russia is preparing for a new large-scale offensive against Ukraine, which could last most of 2025. According to Associated Press journalists, the Kremlin plans to begin active hostilities in the coming weeks to put pressure on Kyiv and strengthen its own positions ahead of potential negotiations, IZ writes.

Ukrainian government officials and military analysts say the offensive will last six to nine months, with the goal of creating favorable conditions for political maneuvering by Vladimir Putin.

Russia is expected to launch offensives along much of the 1,000-kilometer front line as the spring season begins. Military commanders say the Kremlin is seeking a multi-pronged offensive to disrupt Ukraine's defenses in several regions simultaneously.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has previously warned that Russia is preparing new attacks, particularly in the northeast of the country — in Sumy, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhia regions. ” They are dragging out negotiations and trying to drag the US into endless and pointless discussions about fake 'conditions' in order to buy time and then try to seize more land. Putin wants to negotiate territory from a stronger position ,” Zelenskyy said.

In Kyiv, two G7 diplomatic representatives echoed this assessment, agreeing with the Kremlin’s threatening plans. They said Russia’s actions demonstrate Moscow’s unwillingness to stop the aggression and engage in dialogue in good faith.

Earlier it became known that Russia rejected the United States' proposal for a complete cessation of hostilities for 30 days. In addition, the Kremlin also questioned the proposal for a temporary ceasefire in the Black Sea region.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, reported that despite attempts at peaceful dialogue, including during talks in Saudi Arabia, the situation on the frontline is only worsening. The number of civilians killed and injured is steadily increasing, and the fighting is only gaining momentum.

We remind you that we previously wrote that the Russians are preparing to connect the Zaporizhzhia NPP to their power system.
