The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has created a space policy department. It is possible to unite state and private companies, as well as space scientists, to interact with the Ukrainian military.
As we write “Suspilna”, the Intercessor of the Minister of Defense and Digitalization Katerina Chernogorenko spoke about this forum at the Space For Ukraine forum.
Behind these words, based on the law on space activities, the Ministry of Defense can formulate policy in the sphere of military space. “It’s not just the purchase of innovative solutions in engineers, it’s not just the creation of a community so that the best solutions come to Ukraine, but also the creation of space forces,” she said.
The Ministry plans to become the main supplier of space technology, products and services in Ukraine. And this management aims to unite state and private institutions, space scientists for interaction with the Defense Forces.
“We want all innovators, all engineers who are thinking about how to develop space technologies to know contacts, understand digital entry points, so that we (the Ministry of Defense – ed.) can interact. “a coordination center, a center for generating sensations, and a center for generating policies,” said Katerina Chernogorenko.
Until 2030, Ukraine plans to have national satellites for defense purposes, as well as a system for alerting global alarms and monitoring outer space.
