The annual spring-summer spawning ban on catching aquatic biological resources begins in the Zaporizhia region on April 1, IZ reports with reference to Akzent. These are measures aimed at ensuring favorable conditions for spawning, in accordance with the Rules of Amateur and Commercial Fishing.
The spawning ban for amateur fishermen will be in effect until May 20 in rivers and their headwaters, and in tributary systems until June 30. In the Dnipro Reservoir, the ban will last until June 10. Tributary waters are water bodies that are impermeable and are flooded with water during spring floods, including straits and lakes.
According to the Fisheries Department of Zaporizhia Oblast, the recalculation of spawning grounds is consistent with scientific and biological justifications. It is important for fishermen that fishing is allowed only from the shore, using no more than two hooks per fishing rod or spinning rod with one artificial bait.
Also during this period, the movement of motorized vessels on water bodies is prohibited, with the exception of special fish protection vessels. Commercial fishing is also prohibited at this time.
The State Fisheries Agency invites citizens and fishermen to report violations of fishing rules via the hotline: (067) 622-04-66 .
We remind you that we previously wrote about planned power outages in Zaporizhia on March 31.
