In Zaporizhia, online access to preferential mortgages was opened for displaced persons

In Zaporizhzhia, internally displaced persons have been given the opportunity to apply for a preferential mortgage online. According to the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, now displaced persons can take advantage of the state housing lending program through the “Diya” application. The loan rate is 3% per annum, and the down payment is only 6% of the property value, IZ writes.

This initiative is aimed at supporting citizens who were forced to leave their homes due to the war, do not have their own housing in the controlled territory of Ukraine, and did not participate in other state housing programs.

Key terms of the soft loan include a fixed rate of 3% for the entire term of the loan, which can last up to 30 years, but no longer than until the borrower reaches the age of 65. The size of the permitted housing area depends on the number of family members: 52.5 sq. m for one or two people, plus 21 sq. m for each additional family member with IDP status.

It is important that applicants have the right to independently choose housing that meets the established parameters of the program. At the same time, only those displaced persons who have not previously used housing compensation and do not own real estate in the state-controlled territory will be able to receive a mortgage.

The application procedure through “Diya” involves several simple steps: authorization in the application, going to the “Housing Loan for IDPs” section, filling out the questionnaire (most of the data will be automatically retrieved) and waiting for a response within one business day . In case of a positive decision, the applicant is included in the register of candidates for a preferential mortgage.

After that, the displaced people can participate in the selection of winners and gain access to a loan on favorable terms, which will help them secure housing in a safe region of the country.
