Ukraine and the United States are working on the Nadra project. The document does not violate the foundation of Ukrainian membership in NATO.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced about this meeting with journalists, RBC-Ukraine informs Interfax-Ukraine.
He noted that it is mainly American and Ukrainian lawyers who work above and beyond their interests.
In this case, the head of state reacted to Trump’s recent statement that Ukraine would never want to sign with the United States for the sake of NATO membership.
“There is no need for this land and NATO’s food supply, there is no NATO food supply in this land,” Zelensky said.
By the way, the agreement on Nadra is still at an early stage of negotiations, since the United States recently presented Ukraine with a full-fledged version of the document. Initially, the parties planned to sign the framework agreement and then proceed to the full agreement.
What Trump Said
Apparently, earlier US President Donald Trump said that “journalists felt” about the intention of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to sign a treaty with the United States for the sake of “membership in NATO or something similar.”
In other words, food was “not discussed at all.” Trump also added that Ukraine will not be accepted before NATO.
Varto should respect that the administration of US President Donald Trump opposes Ukraine’s membership in NATO.
