April 2 (April 15, old style) is the day of memory of the Monk Titus, the miracle worker. Titus lived in the 8th-9th centuries and is known for his pious life position. Even in his youth, he decided to become a monk, renounce worldly life and enter the Studian Monastery. He was famous for his hard work and gentle character. Titus was elected a presbyter for his moral qualities. For his life's merits and the miracles he performed, he was canonized. The Monk Titus was a steadfast defender of Orthodox icons during the times of iconoclasm and lived to a ripe old age.
What holiday is April 2nd according to the old style?
According to the Julian calendar, April 2 is the feast day of the martyr Photina of Samaria. This date is important for believers who follow the old style. This day is dedicated to the pious life of the saint, who was distinguished by her faith and sacrifice.
