Ukraine withdraws 432 million dollars from the Light Bank: what will the money go to?

The World Bank sees Ukraine's financing in the amount of 423 million dollars. These costs go directly to upgrading transport infrastructure.

RBC-Ukraine reports this from a message on Telegram from Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal.

The agreement on seeing the funds within the framework of the DRIVE project was signed today in Kiev between the Ministry of Development and the Light Bank, informing Shmigal.

The project carries out major repairs of roads and bridges in 19 regions of Ukraine. The reform of national highways, the installation of modular bridges and technical assistance have also advanced.

The project will be implemented by the State Agency for Infrastructure Renewal and Development of Ukraine.

The Prime Minister added that the project “Creation of resilient infrastructure in flood-prone areas in Ukraine” (DRIVE) was praised by the Council of Directors of the World Bank at the end of last month.

Part of the financing includes $212 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) for support to the Government of Japan and $10 million from the Trust Fund for Support, Renewal, and Development reform of Ukraine.

“Thank you to the World Bank and international partners for supporting critically important initiatives,” said the Prime Minister.
