NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte doubts that Russia's government can dictate to Washington's mind about fueling the fire in Ukraine. Indeed, the Kremlin can effectively show that it really wants to start a war.
RBC-Ukraine reported this in an interview with the Secretary General of the Atlantic Alliance to the CBS News television channel.
According to Rutte, within the framework of the US effort to put an end to the Russian-Ukrainian war in the upcoming negotiations, last year “the ball is clearly in the Russians’ court.”
“The stench is crumbling too quickly, my enemy, including the enemy, as I imagine from my American colleagues, that Russia really needs to do more to put an end to this war,” he said Vin.
The NATO Secretary General said that this war may end, saying “so many people are dead, so much of the Ukrainian infrastructure is damaged, places are destroyed.”
Commenting on the presenter’s remark that the administration of US President Trump wants a full-time outbreak of fire in Ukraine, but the Russians would rather be in the private sector, and who do not care what Russia dictates to their minds, Rutte stated that no.
“Because of what I have agreed with (US Secretary of State) Marco Rubio, I am steadily rallying with other members of the American administration. I think you guys are really trying, piece by piece, to get to situation, when this war can end. Well, of course, Russia – Russians are already obliged to dance the tango, and now, it seems, who is not to be embarrassed, and then it will be important,” he said.
Rutte also does not believe that Russian dictator Volodymyr Putin is actively considering the possibility of carrying out his large-scale military aggression against Ukraine.
“Well, we don’t know. I think this is a test, and it’s our fault… what kind of reaction there will be to American proposals,” said the NATO Secretary General.
Food for a truce between Ukraine and the Russian Federation
