The United States will still take part in the meeting of the Contact Group for the defense of Ukraine, known as the “Ramstein” format, which Brussels will face in the 11th quarter.

According to information, the United States will be represented at the Ramstein meeting by Defense Minister Pete Hegseth, but will do so at a distance.
“Minister Hegseth plans to take part in a meeting of the UDCG (Defense Contact Group – ed.) on Friday, the 11th of April, in a video format,” a Pentagon representative told AFP on the condition of anonymity.
This statement appeared after information about a possible boycott of the sustria from the side of Hegseth. Both before and after his appointment as Minister of Defense, he repeatedly stated that, in his opinion, the money the United States spends on supporting Ukraine is too much to waste.
We would like to remind you that the Contact Group's support for the defense of Ukraine, especially known as the Ramstein format, is a regular meeting of representatives of the defense departments of the foreign countries, created after the invasion of Russia in 2022 activities for coordinating military assistance to Ukraine.

Previously, Defense News reported that the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, does not allow the collaboration of representatives of 50 countries to coordinate military support to Ukraine (in the “Ramstein” format), which is planned for 11th quarter in Brussels. The coalition will first be formed without the participation of the US Secretary of Defense.
In addition, it was reported that the Pentagon is unlikely to send any high-ranking representatives who would like to join the minister on such trips.
At the same time, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that the United States will not accept its military assistance to Ukraine under the supervision of Defense Minister Pete Hegseth because of his participation in “Ramstein.”
“Ramstein” near Brussels
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called the order of the days of the 27th “Ramstein”, which will be the 11th quarter.
Following the words of the head of state, within the framework of “Ramstein” the state food will be discussed, among which there will be Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM), software, additional defense packages, the readiness of the countries to open factories and production lines established on the territory of Ukraine.
