British rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, who has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, gave the final concert of his career. The farewell show took place on July 5 at Villa Park Stadium in his hometown of Birmingham, reports Baltimore Chronicle citing Daily Mail.
The concert began with a solo performance by the 76-year-old artist. His setlist included I Don’t Know, Blizzard of Ozz, and Crazy Train. The show was accompanied by fireworks, and the crowd chanted the musician’s name: “Ozzy, Ozzy!” Despite his health challenges, Osbourne delivered an energetic and emotional performance.
After the solo set, members of Black Sabbath joined him on stage for a 25-minute segment. Together, they performed War Pigs, N.I.B., and Iron Man, closing the evening with the legendary track Paranoid. Before the final song, Osbourne addressed the audience: “This is the last song. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.” Moments later, fireworks lit up the sky with the words: “Thank you for everything. You are incredible. Birmingham forever.”
This concert marked a symbolic end to Osbourne’s stage career — Birmingham was where Black Sabbath’s story began, and the musician emphasized the special meaning of this “return to the roots.”
Although he is stepping away from live performances, Osbourne does not plan to retire from music and will continue recording in the studio.
It is worth recalling that in 2003, the musician suffered a serious spinal injury that required surgery and the insertion of metal vertebrae. Over time, his condition has worsened. Additionally, Osbourne was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, which has left him unable to walk and now confined to a wheelchair.
