Ukrainian champions Dynamo Kyiv successfully progressed to the third qualifying round of the Champions League after defeating Malta’s Hamrun Spartans in the second qualifying round return leg. The match ended with a dominant 3-0 victory, securing a 6-0 aggregate win, reports Baltimore Chronicle.
Dynamo opened the scoring in the 28th minute when Vladyslav Vanat capitalized on a defensive error and calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper. Five minutes later, Dynamo doubled their lead with a goal from Volodymyr Brazhko, who finished off a cross from Mykola Shaparenko into an empty net. In the 82nd minute, Taras Mykhavko sealed the win with a precise shot into the bottom corner following another assist from Shaparenko.
This victory allowed Dynamo to advance to the third qualifying round, where they will face the winner of the tie between Cyprus’ Paphos and Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv. The first match of the third round will take place on August 6-7, with the return leg scheduled for August 13.
