NABU and SAPO Support Zelensky’s Push for Rule of Law Reforms

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has initiated the development of a draft law aimed at strengthening the rule of law and ensuring the independence of anti-corruption institutions. This initiative was welcomed by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to NABU and SAPO.

In their statement, the agencies expressed readiness to join the discussion and preparation of a legislative solution that would eliminate legal risks, comply with the principles of the rule of law, and create greater potential for ensuring justice in Ukraine. NABU and SAPO emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue and meetings that facilitate effective inter-institutional cooperation.

The anti-corruption bodies stressed that maintaining the independence of detectives and prosecutors is a key condition for the effective investigation of corruption crimes and for fulfilling Ukraine’s international obligations. According to them, this independence is essential for impartial investigations and trust in the anti-corruption framework.
