As reported by the NBN, this was stated in the material of The Financial Times.
The authors of the article note that Western countries are forced to increase supplies to Ukraine simultaneously with the build-up of their own defense arsenals.
Arms manufacturers face a fundamental dilemma: in peacetime, when they need permanent contracts, politicians have no incentive to fund weapons. But during periods of uncertainty, defense spending increases, leading to continued orders but long delays as companies lack skilled workers to fill the supply chain, — the material says.
It is also noted that delays are especially harmful to those at the front.
One senior official told the publication that Western defense companies need two years to produce enough ammunition so that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are provided with them as well as the Russian invaders.
