The head of the German defense department at the Ramstein meeting said that Berlin continues to invest in the production of ammunition, so this year it will provide Kiev with more shells, NBN reports “with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
According to the minister, Germany has earmarked 3.5 billion euros for the production of ammunition. German authorities expect that they will be able to transfer three to four times more shells for the Armed Forces of Ukraine than they provided last year.
Earlier, the head of the German government, Olaf Scholz, said that Europe will have the highest defense spending from his country. The Federal Chancellor said that Berlin will increase military spending in order to fulfill its obligations to Ukrainians and have the tools to deter aggressors.
