EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell allowed the use of profits from Russian assets frozen in the EU to provide assistance to Ukraine, but on one condition.

The politician noted in his statement that To use the proceeds from the frozen assets of a terrorist state to purchase military aid, Ukraine needs the consent of all 27 EU member states, NBN reports.
According to the head of European diplomacy, the organization could spend the profits from the frozen assets on the territory European Union assets of the aggressor country to strengthen the defense industry of Ukraine and/or purchase weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, such a decision should be supported by all countries of the bloc.
Borrell recalled that previously the proceeds from the frozen assets of the terrorist state were intended to be spent on the restoration of Ukraine, but now the priority is to prevent further destruction on its territory.
Recall that in February Borrell called on Europeans to “wake up”, realize the importance of supporting Ukrainians and quickly provide them with assistance.
