The head of the German defense department said that the “really pressing” issues of military assistance to Ukraine are the transfer of a sufficient number of artillery shells, longer-range rocket artillery and air defense systems.
NBN reports this with reference to the Tagesschau publication.
According to the minister, the debate regarding the provision of Taurus cruise missiles to Kiev has allegedly been brought to an extreme for several months. According to Pistorius, the support of Ukrainians in other areas is more important.
Note that Kyiv asked Berlin for Taurus cruise missiles back in 2023. However, the German leadership constantly finds excuses to refuse the supply of long-range weapons. In particular, last week German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that he does not want to create false expectations in this matter.
