Ukrhydrometcenter on the first day of April reported that dust from the Sahara has been recorded in our country. Ruselevich assessed the health risks from this phenomenon, NBN reports with reference to Channel 24.
According to the doctor, dust from the African desert can be dangerous for Ukrainians who have diseases of the respiratory system or ENT. organs, as well as an allergy to pollen.
The doctor explained that this dust can irritate the mucous membranes, causing difficulty breathing, coughing and runny nose. To minimize its harm to health, Ruselevich advises Ukrainians to follow simple recommendations.
The doctor noted that first of all, it is necessary to minimize contact with dust, that is, limit the time spent outside, use air purifiers and air conditioners.
It is also important to drink more water to prevent drying out of the mucous membranes. In addition, it is worth minimizing the use of deodorants, perfumes and essential oils to reduce irritation with them.
The allergist added that Ukrainians who are at risk need to wear masks and respirators. In addition, it would be a good idea for them to use nasal filters.
