The ISW analytical material notes that due to drone strikes on refineries on the territory of the aggressor country, Russians have to look for gasoline abroad, NBN reports.
American experts drew attention to the article by Reuters. Three unnamed sources in the oil refining industry told reporters that the Kremlin has asked Kazakhstan to create an “emergency reserve” of 100,000 metric tons of gasoline in case the Russian Federation runs out of fuel.
Moscow and Astana are reported to be reached an agreement that will allow the aggressor country to use Kazakhstan’s gasoline reserves. At the same time, the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Energy, Shyngys Ilyasov, said that the department had not received such a request from the capital of the Russian Federation.
In addition, the Kremlin tried to import fuel from an ally state – the Republic of Belarus. According to analysts, Moscow's search for gasoline abroad indicates its concern about the immediate supply of distillate petroleum products to the domestic market after drone strikes on refineries in the Russian Federation.
