On April 7, a fire occurred on the small missile ship of the Russian Navy “Serpukhov” in Baltiysk, Kaliningrad region. Speaker of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Pletenchuk spoke about the damage to the corvette.

On the air of a national telethon, a representative of the Ukrainian Navy reported what damage the corvette Serpukhov received as a result of the fire. Pletenchuk noted that the ship is a complex mechanism consisting of various elements. When one of them fails, the rest can no longer be used in full, NBN reports.
According to him, the fire probably completely destroyed the communications and automation equipment of the ship of the “second army of the world.” The speaker of the Ukrainian Navy explained that in the matter of shipbuilding in the Russian Federation, as with aviation, it is important to take into account the use of a large number of foreign components. Therefore, it will be difficult for the Russians to restore the Serpukhov.
A representative of the Ukrainian Navy added that the aggressor country has built four small missile ships of the Karakurt project and is assembling a fifth. However, the first corvette of them has not yet passed state tests. Pletenchuk added that the Russian Federation has problems with components.
Recall that on April 7 it became known about a fire on a ship in Baltiysk, Kaliningrad region. The media reported that the Serpukhov missile ship was on fire.
