As reported by “NBN” with reference to the official X-account of the British Ministry of Defense, the result of the said attack, judging by the in all likelihood, it will create considerable logistical problems for the Russian Federation not only in supplying Putin’s army in the south of Ukraine, but will also complicate regional exports of liquefied “blue fuel.”
British military intelligence analysts note that the Slavyanin ferry had the largest cargo capacity of the other three identical vessels designed to transport railway cars that previously ran between mainland Russia and the Crimean Peninsula via the Kerch Strait.
Thus, even a temporary shutdown of such ferries will increase costs and reduce Russia's logistical capabilities for transporting fuel, ammunition and equipment via the Black Sea.
The UK Ministry of Defense summarized:
It is very likely that the Russian Federation will have to risk transporting fuel in railway cars via the Kerch Strait the bridge is what it is trying to avoid after the first attack on the bridge in October 2022.
