In recent weeks, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has been pushing hard for a self-designed “peace initiative” that includes countries from Turkey to China, believing that Kyiv and Moscow will not be able to agree to end the war on their own.

As NBN reports, citing the opinion of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, published by the local publication HVG, peace in the war against the Russian Federation Ukraine can only be brought in from outside, since both states do not intend to surrender, since they are “fed by their own truth.”
According to Orban, despite the fact that Ukraine and the Russian Federation are suffering colossal losses in the war, amounting to hundreds of thousands, neither Kyiv nor Moscow are seeking to negotiate a settlement for two reasons: both countries are confident in their position, therefore, they want to conflict until they win.
In particular, the Hungarian leader emphasized that Kiev believes in the advantage of self-defense, since it has received “serious military developments from NATO,” and Moscow does not ;wants to see troops and weapons of the North Atlantic Alliance on the border, and points to a “provoked war.”
Orban summed up:
They [Ukraine and the Russian Federation] will not surrender, this leads directly to escalation, and peace can only be brought from outside.
Earlier, we wrote that Orban accused Ukraine of “blackmail” due to the ban on the transit of Russian oil to Hungary.
