Since mid-spring of this year, the norms of stricter mobilization legislation have come into force in Ukraine, including those abolishing the “limited fitness” status — almost all Ukrainian males (18-60) are now considered liable for military service.

As reported by NBN with reference to the message of the Odessa TCC/SP, according to the current legislation, in certain cases men aged 18-25 are not subject to the usual call-up, but to mobilization and subsequent sending to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In particular, previously citizens aged 18 to 25 years old belonged to the category of conscripts, but now such persons may well be mobilized if:
- have completed their compulsory military service during peacetime;
- have graduated from a higher military educational institution or a university in the military department, having received the appropriate VUS (military registration specialty);
- were recognized by the doctors of the military medical commission as unfit for military service in peacetime, but fit to be sent to the troops when martial law was introduced.
Earlier, we wrote about the fact that the defense department stated that in Ukraine there is no urgent need to lower the mobilization age.
